Fruita is located approximately 10 miles west of Grand Junction.

  • Museum of Western Colorado: Dinosaur Journey Museum 

          The museum presents life-sized robotic dinosaurs. The museum highlights western Colorado’s story. It has interactive, hands-on features such as cast skeletons and real fossils. 

  • Colorado National Monument

        One of the most remarkable landscapes in the west provides red rock canyon walls, juniper trees, and incredible unique hiking trails. The Rim Rock Drive up the Monument is a twisty drive where you may be lucky enough to see Bighorn Sheep or an Eagle. 

  • Kokopelli’s Trail 

        This trail is a premier 142-mile trail mostly used for mountain bikers. It is made up of old jeep dirt roads, singletrack, and pavement. There are campsites along the route that has a toilet and a picnic table.
